Dr. Bradford Plasha

Originally, Dr. Plasha wanted to pursue a career in engineering! However, he changed his mind after shadowing his Aunt and Uncle at their dental office. Once he saw firsthand that he could genuinely help others as a dentist, his mind was made up – he wanted to follow in their footsteps!

As for his studies, Dr. Plasha first attended Randolph-Macon College. After earning his undergraduate degree in chemistry, he pursued his dental doctorate at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. At this time, he completed an externship in prosthodontics. All these years later, he continues to pursue continuing education as well as maintain active memberships with the American Dental Association and other professional organizations.

Naturally, lots of Dr. Plasha’s time in and out of the office is dedicated to dentistry. However, what he loves most is spending time with his wife and their son. He enjoys participating in hobbies like kayaking, playing chess, and, of course, watching the Philadelphia Eagles. Here’s a fun fact about him: visiting all 50 states is on his bucket list!

Frequently Asked Questions, Answered!

How do I get emergency dental care?

When you experience a dental emergency – whether it’s a small toothache or a completely knocked-out tooth – there’s one thing on your mind: where do you turn for help? The answer depends largely on the symptoms you’re experiencing. For example, if you are dealing with uncontrollable bleeding, difficulty swallowing, or another potentially life-threatening symptom, you should head to the ER or call 911. If you aren’t, then your first call should be to our dental office near Trappe. That way, we can alleviate your pain and restore your healthy smile ASAP.

How much does a dental checkup & cleaning cost in Trappe?

If you look online, you’ll see that the average price of a dental checkup and teeth cleaning in the US is anywhere from $200 to $350. That’s not necessarily the price you’ll pay though. After all, there are several factors that impact that number, including if you need X-rays taken and if you have dental insurance. So, if you want a more accurate estimate of the cost, we recommend contacting us instead. We’d be happy to provide further insight into the price and how you can make preventive care affordable.

How can I make a same-day appointment with a dentist?

Typically, same-day appointments are reserved for dental emergencies, like bleeding gums, painful toothaches, and damaged restorations. There are exceptions, however! So, don’t hesitate to give us a call if you’re interested in scheduling a routine checkup, meeting with our cosmetic dentist, or coming in for a dental implant consultation. Once we know a little more about the reason for your visit, we can determine the soonest we can see you.

What do you do if you can't afford a dentist?

Oftentimes, patients who are worried about the cost avoid talking to their dentist. In reality, the best thing to do is the exact opposite! Your dental team can provide you with an estimate of the cost and review all of the financial solutions available, like dental insurance and flexible financing. They can also answer any questions you have and share what you can do to maintain, restore, and enhance your smile moving forward.

Important note: Taking the “wait and see” approach won’t save you any money. Remember, tooth decay, periodontal disease, and other common oral health problems will only get worse with time. So, the best thing for your smile and your wallet is to get the care you need ASAP.

What level of education is required to be a dentist?

After working for four years to obtain their undergraduate degree, the aspiring dentist must apply to (and be accepted to) one of only 67 accredited dental schools in the U.S. From there, they undergo three years of in-classroom and hands-on training. Even after they earn their dental doctorate, their training is not over. To maintain their license, they need to complete continuing education hours each year too. So, becoming a dentist doesn’t just require immense dedication and training, it also requires a life-long commitment to continuing education!
