Got Slightly Crooked or Gapped Teeth? Veneers Can Straighten Them

When you have company coming over somewhat soon, but there’s too much to do to prepare your house for guests, what do you do? The easiest, fastest, and simplest solution is to accomplish what you can and hide the rest. Others don’t need to know about every flaw! Your smile can work in a similar way.

Whether due to life’s experiences or just the natural development of your mouth, you may have imperfections like slightly crooked teeth. Although misalignments would ideally be sorted out and straightened with Invisalign treatment, this may not always be feasible for whatever reason. In this case, you have another option available: veneers. Read this post to learn how this cosmetic treatment could take care of this orthodontics issue.

What Problems Can Veneers Fix?

Although you may think of veneers as exclusively taking care of misshapen teeth, extremely shallow and aesthetic cracks, and stubborn discoloration, did you know that veneers can also cover up minor misalignment and gaps between teeth? As long as your case isn’t moderate or severe, these tiny slivers of porcelain can disguise the teeth behind them. In fact, if you have multiple flaws at once, veneers can take of them simultaneously.

Benefits of Veneers for Straighter Teeth

Faster Than Invisalign

As efficient, fast, and subtle as Invisalign treatment is for correcting misalignment, it usually takes between 6 and 18 months to complete. Contrasting with that, veneers typically involve just two appointments and a few weeks in between for the dental lab to fabricate the coverings. This means that if you have a special event coming up in about two months or so, you may still have time to achieve your dream smile beforehand.

No Discomfort

Compared to traditional braces, Invisalign treatment involves much less discomfort without scratchy, irritating brackets and wires; however, shifting teeth usually does include some pressure or even slight pain even with clear aligners. When getting veneers, your mouth is numbed while the dentist removes a thin layer of enamel from the fronts of the teeth. During the preparation step, you shouldn’t feel anything going on and stay comfortable. When the anesthetic wears off, don’t be surprised if you have some sensitivity for a little while. At minimum, it’ll go away after your custom veneers are ready and bonded in place.

Although veneers aren’t a viable option for moderate to severe orthodontic cases, this cosmetic procedure may be more appealing to you than undergoing months of treatment and a little more discomfort. To identify the perfect method to use to gain your perfect smile, talk to your dentist!
